Thumbprint Gallery Presents Basic Tuesdays

Thumbprint Gallery, a unique art hub in La Jolla, is known for putting on innovative art events and supporting local artists. Several Tuesdays a month, they take over Basic in East Village and fill it with modern art, inspiring artists and good beats. We already know that Basic  has awesome pizza so with all these things combined, you just really can’t go wrong.

Basic Tuesdays are known for being laid-back, creative and culture-filled. The wide open warehouse-style setting inside Basic is perfect for these events, as it lets the art take center stage while allowing maximum mingling opportunities.

I got a chance to check out this event last night and I had a great time! There was tons of unique art, much of it for sale. Several live art showings were occurring as well, with one of the artists providing abstract portraits for guests (of course I got one). What I really liked is the fact that all the artists were more than happy to chat with you about their work and art in general. Everyone was super easy to get along with and the atmosphere was unbeatable. Whether you’re looking to expand your artistic horizons, network with talented local artists, or just chill back with some friends, I highly recommend Basic Tuesdays as an event to hit!
