The Villa by Barton G: The Former Versace Mansion

One of my very favorite parts of my Miami vacation was the meal I enjoyed at  the infamous former Versace mansion, now transformed into a restaurant titled The Villa by Barton G. From the ambiance to the cuisine, it couldn’t have been a more perfect evening. And the incredible present I was gifted at the end of the dinner only made the visit that much sweeter! But before I get ahead of myself, let’s take a look at the scrumptious food that was served:

Everything was to-die-for: unique mixes of exploding flavors all working together to create the most elegant, savory, and certainly luxurious cuisine in all of South Beach.

Almost as mesmerizing as the food was the Versace dinnerware that the cuisine was all served upon, from napkin holders to bread and butter plates:

After expressing interest in the dinner plates, our served informed us that some items were actually for sale! After dinner, we made our way to a sitting area where many Versace home goods were presented before us for purchase, which is how I ended up with an astounding present to take home. As soon as I learned that the very plate I was engrossed with inside the restaurant was also available to buy, my heart was pining for it’s unusual beauty. While certainly on the expensive side, I know I will be keeping this extravagant present for decades:

I leave my darling readers with a parting shot of the devastating steps upon which the legendary Gianni Versace was shot while retrieving the newspaper in front of his very own home, now the entrance to this spectacular restaurant:

Return From Miami, Back to San Diego!

Let me start off by saying that my Florida vacation was AMAZING! There were so many places to explore and things to see, I feel like it would have taken a month to even begin to get the true feel of the state. However, the time I was there was spent extremely well: in South Beach, Everglades & the Florida Keys!

But, I’m a firm believer that pictures often times speak louder than words, so here’s an exclusive sneak peek highlighting my favorite parts of my vacation:

                                                                       The Airport:

The Everglades (my favorite part, partly due to my love of Swamp People):

Highly recommend the AIR BOAT RIDE!

My second favorite part? SOUTH BEACH of course!

Can’t beat the clear blue water:

I even got to enjoy some seafood & steak beach-side on Ocean Drive, at a delightful restaurant in which part of the legendary Scarface movie was filmed:

And the Keys were gorgeous; tons of tiny islands all connected by bridges with the most lush trees and beautiful wrap around porches I’ve ever laid eyes on:

Once in Key West, we had a chance to see the house of Hemingway:

                                                    The sunsets were incredible:

Dinner in Key West at the Roof Top Cafe (scrumptious!):

It was a wonderful vacation, and I can’t wait to go back and explore Florida further! Stay tuned for my most favorite part, which merits its very own post.
